Cape Town: Today the management of Rheinmetall Denel Munition (RDM) was given the identities of those who died in the incident on 3 September. The families of those affected were invited to an information session with the Forensic Pathology Service, which took place today, 13 September. RDM provided transport for the families there and back. Once the families had received the information, they gave permission to RDM to share this with the public at large. RDM can therefore confirm that the following staff members died on 3 September: Nico Angelo Samuels, aged 41, plant supervisor Stevon Robert Isaacs, aged 51, team leader Mxolisi Sigadla, aged 40, operator Bradley Tandy, aged 19, operator Jamie Lesley Haydricks, aged 24, operator Jason Hartzenberg, aged 22, operator Triston Lance David, aged 22, operator Thandolwethu Mankayi, aged 27, operator “We can now begin making funeral arrangements and we can proceed with the other tributes we had planned to honour our colleagues. The whole of RDM is mourning with the families,” said Schulze. RDM appealed to the media to give the families the space they need to mourn now that they have received this information. -Ends-
